Web Browsers

I have used Firefox for ages, and am a huge fan.  I really like their add-ons and find them all user friendly.  IE on the other hand gives me the irrates.  I have often found the audio, of very poor quality, the pages slow to load and a number of other small unnecessary tech problems that in this day and age should not happen.  I have heard really good things of Safari, for Mac users.  But not being a Mac user i can see the benefits.
I have now started using Chrome, but I am still faithful to Firefox.  Oh dear, does this mean I don't like change?

Podcast

Bedtime listening for kids?
Storytime in the Library?

Podcasts & Audio

When this is a nice treat. Have found podcasts to childrens books and Jane Austen.
These classic novels are great reading. I am currently re listening to Anne of Green Gables. I just loved the Anne books.

A library with access to downloading or accessing these podcasts would provide great listening pleasure for children & other. I dont believe that many clients understand podcasting and how easy it is to get great listening pleasure on those long drives over the christmas break.

Mashup awards (http://mashupawards.com/winners/)

There are some really interesting ideas in this site. I find it particularly helpful that the products are grouped together ie. Anything to do with Amazon is under Amazon. This makes it quick and easy to find something relevant to what you want to use. I like Zoomi. Perhaps it was the colours or the bestsellers.

Sharing a Zoho doc called 'Learning'

Learning and pedagogies

Learning is a transformational process of active engagement that encompasses:
  • learning to live together
  • learning to be
  • learning to know and to do
From birth through the first five years of life, children participate in social environments that enrich and shape their learning. Educators use their knowledge of children, the wisdom that families contribute about each child and a broad range of pedagogical possibilities to actively engage with children in learning.  They:
  • create opportunities for children to engage with others, their environment and in a range of experiences
  • intentionally guide children and assist them to discover their potentials and achieve their learning goals
  • ensure that children encounter cognitive challenges through teaching techniques such as modeling, open questioning, speculating and explanation.
Educators in early childhood settings help children to develop positive dispositions towards learning, including imagination, resilience and reciprocity.  Learning dispositions and styles become important parts of children's learning identities, which they take into new settings, such as school, and also provide the foundation for future formal learning.

Infants and toddlers are naturally curious, and when provided with appropriate opportunities and encouragement will explore the world around them.  These early lerning experiences lead on to preschoolers' exploration of ideas, finding their own solutions to problems and collaborating to pose problems and search for solutions.  This learning is fundamental to lifelong growth and development.

Zoho docs vs Google docs (bien fait, cherie)

I have joined the Zoho community, and surprisingly now feel like a traitor to Google. I much prefered the Zoho doc experience. The tabs, the set up to share and post the doc to my blog. So many more functions and much more user friendly. Im a fan. Now will look at other Zoho gadgets. Charles will be pleased.

Fabuleux ... excellentes nouvelles (great news)

Have just created a word document in Google (Googleaux) and have placed the link on my blog. This links directly to the word document (with image) I have created. Tres intersting. Lots of ideas/options for this little petite option.

Google docs

Google docs is a great way to share information within work units. Whether its rosters, statistics, or tracking work tasks. Some uni's and colleges are getting their students to use this application to share work. Teachers can log into the shared document and make comments. This is especially relevant for distant education students. Group or team assigments can be easily discussed, shared and updated.

vivre la vie amoureuse de vivre a l'amour

Bonjour les amis,
it is time to activate one of the old blogs and get blogging. As per usual time is a precious commodity, one which I am skilled at wasting usefully.

Look forward to new adventures with L2TD, and very relevant skills and information for all sisters of the sisterhood.
